Unlimited routines. Every set you've ever logged, kept for as long as you want it. No ads, ever. Then a coach that turns that history into your next session — and shows its working.
Web app works today · Android APK available · iOS & watch apps in development
Every table-stakes feature from both incumbents, rebuilt with an Apple-grade design system — and no banner ads anywhere near your working sets, ever.
Weight and reps pre-filled from last session. Copy previous set, complete, done. Works one-handed, mid-set, offline in a basement gym.
Templates with target sets, rep ranges, per-exercise rest and supersets. Start a workout with everything pre-filled. Unlimited — no 4-routine cap.
Link exercises into color-coded groups in routines or mid-workout. The rest timer knows the difference.
Auto-starts on set completion, per-exercise overrides, background notifications, haptics. ±15s without breaking focus.
Est. 1RM, volume, and top-weight charts per exercise. Weekly muscle-group balance vs. the 10–20 set band. Calendar heatmap. Rep-max table. PR timeline.
Weight, body fat, and 13 girths with trend charts. Bodyweight feeds volume math for pull-ups and dips.
Plate math, warmup ramps, supersets, RPE, 1RM estimates, full CSV + JSON export. Table stakes — we just don't charge you for them.
One tap builds a ramped warmup protocol from your working weight. NEITHER APP HAS THIS
Weight, reps, volume, and estimated-1RM records detected on every finish — with a celebration that earns it.
Setminded's progression engine is deterministic and transparent: real rules (double progression, plateau detection, deload triggers) computed from your actual sets. Every recommendation comes with the reasoning. On-device, offline, free.
"82.5 kg × 8 — you hit 12 reps on every set at 80." Exact loads and reps for every lift, updated after every workout.
Goal, experience, days, equipment → a complete weekly program built from real library exercises. Full-body, upper/lower, or PPL — editable, scheduled, yours.
"How's my bench progressing?" answered with your numbers and a verdict. "What should I do today?" answered from your schedule.
Volume balance per muscle, stagnating lifts, streak risk, volume spikes. Prescriptive, not just pretty charts.
Miss the rep floor two sessions running and the coach programs a 10% reset. Four flat sessions and it prescribes variation.
No black box. Every recommendation shows its rule and its data. AI chat (server-side Claude) layers on later — the rules stay the source of truth.
This category has a decade of horror stories: apps that capped your history at three months, revoked the lifetime access you paid for, moved the rest timer behind a paywall, or shut down and deleted your account outright. So here is what we commit to, in writing.
Not four. Not three. However many you want, on the free tier, permanently.
No three-month window. The set you logged in year one is still there in year five — free.
Nothing interrupts a working set. There is no ad-supported tier waiting in a future release.
Full JSON and CSV, free, forever. If you leave, you leave with everything — no negotiation.
Whatever is free today stays free. We will not take a feature you rely on and sell it back to you.
Logging and your data are never the paywall. If we ever charge, it's for the intelligence on top.
Nobody serves switchers well — Hevy's Strong import runs once, in English only, and drops workouts; Boostcamp offers no export at all. Setminded imports with fuzzy exercise matching, duplicate detection and PR rebuilding, and one-tap undo if you change your mind. Leaving is just as easy: full JSON + CSV export, free, forever.
Logging is unlimited and free forever. Pro unlocks the full coach, complete analytics history, and more — and you choose how to unlock it.
Fully. The database lives on your device; every feature — logging, routines, analytics, the coach, even import — works in airplane mode. Cloud sync (AWS Cognito + Postgres) reconciles when you're back online, with last-write-wins and a durable queue that survives restarts.
The progression engine is deliberately not a language model — it's deterministic sports-science rules over your data, so it's fast, free, reproducible, and can't hallucinate your squat numbers. A server-side LLM layer (Claude) is planned for conversational depth, clearly labeled and always grounded in the same numbers. We think honesty about this is a feature.
JEFIT's web export (Settings → Data Controls) produces a multi-section CSV that we parse natively — sessions, exercise logs, and body stats. If their endpoint errors (we've seen 503s), retry later or use the app's local backup; our parser reads both, and the generic CSV mapper is the escape hatch of last resort.
You export everything — JSON (full fidelity) or CSV in Hevy-compatible columns that imports cleanly elsewhere. Export is free on every tier, forever. Lock-in is a business model we're explicitly betting against.
Web app (this site) and Android APK today. iOS, Apple Watch, and Wear OS companions are on the roadmap — the sync layer was designed for standalone watch sessions from day one.
